POINTNCLICK’S Top Video Game Picks for This Week

August 13 – August 19 Edition

You know what’s boring? News. Especially news about games no one cares for! Never fear, POINTCLICK is here to curate the videogames WE’RE interested in, and the ones YOU might want to play this week. Fortunately, the POINTNCLICK crew has a delectable, buttery spread of opinions that will (hopefully) ensure a nice range of diverse and interesting games. Some weeks individuals may not feature, some weeks this article might not exist, but if you’re reading this now I’d say this probably happened.

Lauren’s picks

The Walking Dead: The Final Season:  Episode 1

Release Date: 14th of August

I don’t like Clementine. I’ve never liked Clementine. And I don’t like that just because she’s this poor kid who lost her parents at the start of the apocalypse, and has learned to not trust people and how to handle herself, she HAS to be some sort of angel child and up for most likeable character, 20XX. Am I still going to play this single episode for 20 hours though? Ya-huh. Don’t get me started on AJ.

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth

Release Date: 14th of August

I don’t wanna renew my subscription! Please! Don’t make me!

Oh, okay then.

David’s Pick

World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth

Release Date: 14th of August

When I quit WoW two years ago, it was for good. I had peaked as one of the best tanks in the world during Warlords of Draenor, and I couldn’t handle the intense time-commitment that Legion had fostered. I still don’t know whether I can enjoy WoW anymore, there’s so many good games coming out these days, and being a ‘casual’ just doesn’t seem possible for me after the MASSIVE investment I put in back in the day.

I probably would have given Legion a try earlier, if I didn’t make — for some stupid reason — my main an Alliance, so now in order to play Battle for Azeroth, I have to ALSO purchase a faction change. This barrier is actively preventing me from reinstalling WoW so it might be a good thing. Regardless, I’m keen to see what the reception is.
