POINTNCLICK’S Top Video Game Picks For This Week

October 1 – October 7 Edition

You know what’s boring? News. Especially news about games no one cares for! Never fear, POINTCLICK is here to curate the video games we are interested in, and the ones you might want to play this week. Fortunately, the POINTNCLICK crew has a delectable, buttery spread of opinions that will (hopefully) ensure a nice range of diverse and interesting games. Some weeks individuals may not feature, some weeks this article might not exist, but if you’re reading this now I’d say this probably happened.

David’s Picks

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Release Date: October 5th (2nd with Early Access)

My excitement for Odyssey really crept up on me. As the release date edged nearer, and more footage began bursting through the floodgates, I’ve become VERY impatient. I couldn’t put Origins down for a very long time and even completed all the DLC. The concept of more Origins but with better combat and a more world building quest design has me frothing at the bits.

Super Mario Party

Release Date: October 5th

Who am I kidding, I’m not going to buy Super Mario Party… Yet. Plainly, I don’t see my friends as a group in a consistent ‘Switch Friendly’ environment enough to justify purchasing Mario Party, even for the extra Nintendo coins. That being said, those joint Switch mini-games look super cool! At the very least, I’m excited to see how it fairs critically.

Lauren’s Picks

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Release Date: October 5th (2nd with Early Access)

I’m not exactly a fan of the Assassin’s Creed games as a whole. I 100% completed Assassin’s Creed 2 and loved it, but beyond that, they aren’t on my radar. Is this one? Nope, not really, I just wanna hear what David has to say about it.

Super Mario Party

Release Date: October 5th

I love me a Mario Party title, and this one looks pretty damn sweet, but I don’t think I could be bothered to actually find people to play it with. The last version of the Mario Party franchise made me realise that playing multiplayer games alone is… kinda pathetic.
