POINTNCLICK’S Top Video Game Picks For This Week

September 3 – September 9 Edition

You know what’s boring? News. Especially news about games no one cares for! Never fear, POINTCLICK is here to curate the video games we are interested in, and the ones you might want to play this week. Fortunately, the POINTNCLICK crew has a delectable, buttery spread of opinions that will (hopefully) ensure a nice range of diverse and interesting games. Some weeks individuals may not feature, some weeks this article might not exist, but if you’re reading this now I’d say this probably happened.

David’s Pick

Marvel’s Spider-Man

Release Date: September 7th

Spider-Man 2 is one of my favourite games of all time. I still remember the morning I was sick home from school, and finally managed to crush Doctor Octopus in his last and very challenging boss fight. I’ve been waiting for this new game since before I exited my mother’s womb. I am dying to re-experience web-slinging at its finest, and I pray to every game-God in existence that Insomniac accomplished what a Spider-Man game is truly capable of.

Destiny 2: Forsaken

Release Date: September 4th

Destiny 2 has been one of the biggest disappointments in video games for me. I don’t know how Bungie managed to screw the pooch yet again, but they did, and I haven’t touched the game for this entire year (I believe.) Well, here’s hoping they prompt a late in the lifespan revival with the new Forsaken expansion. If they fail there’s always Destiny 3…

Lauren’s Picks

Marvel’s Spider-Man

Release Date: September 7th

Ya-huh, I give in. I’ll play it. You know why? Because I’m supportive of my friends and I’m also worried if I leave him unsupervised, Cotter may have some sort of brain aneurysm and I’m not up for calling his parents. Also, I just watched Tobey Maguire in the first Spider-Man movie and I am all in on this web-slinging motherfucker.

NBA 2K19

Release Date: September 7th

Holy shit, I am excited! Not only is ma boi, Giannis, on the cover, but it just looks SO MUCH BETTER than last year! Hopefully, they fix a few problems that I had with last year – most noticeably, all of it!

Cotter’s Picks

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Release Date: September 4th

I’m not familiar with the mainline Dragon Quest series, with my experience relegated to the couple of spinoffs I’ve dipped my toes in over the years. But gosh dang, I have no idea how anyone could look at a snippet of gameplay and not want to go on a classic JRPG adventure in Dragon Quest XI.

Zone of the Enders: The Second Runner – Mars

Release Date: September 4th

Look, this is a classic case of “Oh, this is that Kojima mech game, yep I’m in”. Wait, what? You guys have never said that before?

Marvel’s Spider-Man

Release Date: September 7th

It’s been no secret that I’m eagerly anticipating the launch of Marvel’s Spider-Man, and who wouldn’t want to swing around New York with them web-shooters? But my number one hope for this game is that they nail the Peter Parker/Spider-Man narrative. Say what you will, but Spidey is one of my favourite characters in all fiction, and I hope they do him justice. Oh! and go watch Spectacular Spider-Man, you can thank me later.
