May 9th-15th Weekly News Roundup

What a week it has been it has been indeed! Let’s dive into some of the highlights and recap shall we?

In game announcements:

  • On May 8th (so close to 9th), Battlefield developer Dice announced that all upcoming content for Battlefield 4 will be free for everybody! Gee, thanks Dice!



  •  Also on May 12th, Rolling Stone Magazine exclusively announced the first songs and artists that would feature in the new upcoming Guitar Hero Live, among the revealed tracks were everything from System of a Down to Alt-J and Skrillex… interesting. You can read our updated coverage here.

  •  Once again, May 12th brought a rumour that acclaimed Pacific Rim director Guillermo del Toro’s Mirada Studios may be producing a cinematic trailer for the unannounced Fallout 4. Cross everything, guys

  •  On May 13th, we saw the official announcement of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, a new Assassin’s Creed set in the various boroughs of London and featuring not one but two playable Assassin’s, one being a female, (I mean, they kind of had to, right?) that the player can freely switch between as well as some hectic horse and cart chases.   • On May 14th, footage and screenshots were leaked of the rumored to be remastered Gears of War from tester’s Xbox Ones. Since then, it has been said that the tester’s Xbox Ones have been locked and deemed unusable. Check out our coverage here.

  • A Kickstarter campaign for a new spiritual successor to Banjo-Kazooie, Yooka-Laylee was launched.  As of today, May 15th, the current total of raised funds is sitting at a whopping £1,500,000! You can still back the campaign and reserve yourself a copy of the upcoming 3D platformer here.
