Square Enix Press Conference Recap E3 2018

, ,

Thank heavens it was a shorty.

Josh Ennor:

“Are you annoyed we got up at 2:00am to watch that?” Yes.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

Unless I missed something, Square Enix revealed the first gameplay trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider. The bow makes another return, and specific emphasis was placed on the combat’s environmental interaction. Nothing new from the previous game yet. Coming out September 14 2018 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

Final Fantasy 14

Final Fantasy 14 is receiving a Monster Hunter World tie-in. If you’re into the cute, fluffy palicos (they’re cats) from Monster Hunter World, but at the same time only want to play Final Fantasy 14, then boy do Square Enix have you covered.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Jack Sparrow Spirit

“You will always remember this as the day you almost caught Captain Jack Sparrow”

Coming out 26th of June on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 2018 for FREE!

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age

Coming to PlayStation 4 and PC on September 4 2018

Babylon’s Fall

First reveal of a new IP coming out of Square Enix. We don’t know really anything about this game except that it is being developed by Platinum Games, the makers of Nier: Automata, Bayonetta, and that bad Ninja Turtles game (among others).

Nier: Automata

Here’s the same trailer from the Microsoft press conference which revealed that Nier: Automata is coming to Xbox One on June 26 2018.

Octopath Traveler

Just a short trailer to remind you that Octopath Traveler is coming to Nintendo Switch on July 13 2018.

Just Cause 4

Following the announcement at Microsoft’s press conference, Just Cause 4 has received a gameplay showcase, highlighting the environmental effects, improved grappling hook, and better enemy AI.

The Quiet Man

Another new IP coming out of Square Enix was teased in their conference, displaying an atrociously awkward FMV section and then what seems to be a third-person brawler teaser.

Kingdom Hearts 3

Square’s new trailer for Kingdom Hearts III is essentially the same trailer we saw at Microsoft albeit with a few extra scenes sprinkled throughout, namely the appearance of Remy from Pixar’s Ratatouille.
