POINTNCLICK’S Top Video Game Picks For This Week

, , , ,

September 24 – September 30 Edition

You know what’s boring? News. Especially news about games no one cares for! Never fear, POINTCLICK is here to curate the video games we are interested in, and the ones you might want to play this week. Fortunately, the POINTNCLICK crew has a delectable, buttery spread of opinions that will (hopefully) ensure a nice range of diverse and interesting games. Some weeks individuals may not feature, some weeks this article might not exist, but if you’re reading this now I’d say this probably happened.

Lauren’s Picks

The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 2

Release Date: September 25th

Well, this one’s a little bitter for me. I’m really looking forward to playing this bad boy, especially after the amazing upgrade which was Episode 1. I want – no – NEED to see where this season is going, however, now with TellTale Games shutting down and having the rest of the season possibly being uncompleted, I kinda wanna just leave it alone. I’m weirdly heartbroken, and I want it to keep on going. I guess I’ll have to settle for an obvious cliffhanger.

Life Is Strange 2 – Episode 1

Release Date: September 27th

I never finished Life is Strange Season 1. In fact, I couldn’t finish the first episode. It just didn’t pull me in as much as TellTale’s narrative adventures have. I always intended to go back to them, but that was years ago. Now, that I’m a more seasoned narrative poofo, I’m actually looking forward to this release, especially since it follows different characters. They’re just called Two Brothers!

The Walking Dead: The Final Season Episode 2

Release Date: September 25th

After a surprisingly great first episode, I couldn’t be more excited for this second episode! Then TellTale Games had to go belly-up right after they started making some interesting games again. I’m still excited to check this one out, but I’m just not sure if my heart can handle it.

Life Is Strange 2 – Episode 1

Release Date: September 27th

Hi there, just wanted to remind everyone to drop what you’re doing and play Life is Strange: Before the Storm right this second.

Julian’s Picks

Pathfinder: Kingmaker

Release Date: September 26th

Many many years ago the undisputed king of the western RPG titles was Neverwinter Nights. Based on the Dungeons and Dragons rule books, that title set the foundation of digital RPGs. The mid 2000’s were a bad time for the D&D franchise and it was with the release of the fourth edition that many people jumped ship to the new book based RPG on the block. Pathfinder is now a staple base rule set and it is from this that the Kingmaker game emerges. Will it be as defining as the Neverwinter series? I am not sure. But I am excited to dive into its world and give it a try.

Valkyria Chronicals 4

Release Date: September 25th

Valkyria Chronicals was the game I bought a PS3 for. It was the first game I bought on the PSP and this latest iteration continues to draw my attention. This is a fantastic series which combines strategy, FPS and RPG elements into a single amazing package. With a simultaneous release across PC and the other consoles the choice is no longer whether I can buy it, but rather would I prefer it on the Switch or the PC.
