Knock em’ down, Toddahawk
My opinion of Bethesda’s press conference continues to peak and trough. It didn’t boast an exceptional outing of new or known videogames, but the charm of Todd Howard and the ludicrous Skyrim: Very Special Edition, stole the show. Bethesda’s unique personality and self-awareness added a level of entertainment lacking in both EA and Microsoft press conferences.
After a really awkward introduction, Rage 2 stole the show with its over-the-top action and stunning visuals. I will say though, the overly-serious monologue at the beginning of the trailer was so tonally different than what we had seen prior to E3, that it was a little off-putting.
Elder Scrolls: Legends
I’m sorry, I just don’t have anything to say about this game. But here’s a trailer!
The Elder Scrolls Online
We got a new trailer for the Summerset expansion coming to The Elder Scrolls Online, and some details on the new Argonian-based expansion, along with ‘tell’ of an upcoming werewolf dungeon dlc.
They’ve done it boys. They’ve announced the next DOOM game. I think I speak for everyone at POINTNCLICK when I say DOOM was robbed of the 2016 OK Games GOTY. I look forward to setting the record straight with DOOM Eternal. The developer at id boasted double the variety of enemies, and the teaser shows that at least part of the game will take place on ‘hell on Earth’.
Arcane studios have released an update which implements a survival mode, and new game plus. Also, and this confused me a bit, they also announced and released the Mooncrash DLC which is featured below in the trailer. Oh, and prop hunt is coming to Prey!
Following the lead of Wolfenstein Old Blood, Young Blood will be a standalone expansion of Wolfenstein 2, taking place 20 years after the events of the game. Players will assume the role of BJ’s twin daughters, and can do so in co-op!
Skyrim: Very Special Edition
Just watch the video.
We got a new trailer for Fallout 76, and confirmation that the game is an online survival RPG. Wooo… Coming out November 14 2018. The collector’s edition also got announced, including a map, which glows in the fucking dark! And a power-armour helmet.
Elder Scrolls: Blades
Not the Elder Scrolls game anybody wanted, but it looks neat. It’s launching on mobile, but it will be coming to consoles later in the future. Coming sometime 2018, and it’s free! Cheers to Gamespot for the video.
I don’t really know anything about this, so I’ll leave it to Cotter to explain it in another article on this site. But here’s the announcement trailer. Coming out next console generation.
Elder Scrolls VI
Speculation about this is pointless. But if for some reason you were concerned that Elder Scrolls wouldn’t be returning, here you go. Coming out after Starfield in the next console generation.
